J.ESME is an author and creator whose work blends realism, emotion, and imagination into powerful, character-driven narratives. When she approached September Design Studio, she envisioned a digital home that reflected her artistry and depth — a space that felt cinematic, elegant, and timeless. Our goal was to design a website that would not only showcase her writing but also embody her brand’s essence: bold yet refined, modern yet poetic.

We developed a custom Squarespace site infused with motion and texture — delicate animations, layered imagery, and immersive layouts bring her world to life without overwhelming her words. The color palette balances deep blacks, soft neutrals, and subtle metallic tones, evoking both mystery and sophistication. Typography was central to this build: we refined the visual hierarchy through elegant serif and contemporary sans-serif pairings, ultimately landing on GT Walsheim and Crimson Text to balance readability and artistic flair.

From the Reads and Archive sections to the immersive Scarab House experience, every page was crafted to tell a story — of legacy, transformation, and art in motion. The result is a seamless digital experience that mirrors Esme’s literary identity: layered, expressive, and unforgettable.
